Description
Shot put is a track and field event where athletes throw a heavy spherical object, known as the shot, as far as possible. The shot is put (thrown) from a circular area using one hand, and the throw must be made from inside a 7-foot diameter circle. Athletes use various techniques, with the most common being the “glide” and “spin” methods, to generate maximum force and distance. The world record for men’s shot put is over 23 meters, while for women, it is over 22 meters.
